Dopamine is then released into the brain. This is the chemical that makes the smoker feel an ecstatic sensation. Smokers find it hard to quit because they come to be dependent on this good feeling. Wanting to experience this repeatedly leads directly to dependence. An individual who tries to quit may experience withdrawal problems. Topping the bill of withdrawal problems is depression. With the lack of the chemical that produces the relaxing feeling, the brain becomes troubled without it. Once people get hooked, smoking becomes a large part of their lives. After a long time of lighting up, it becomes a routine. As a fact, humans are creatures of habit. Feelings, places, and moods may turn on a smoker’s need for a cigarette. Even the things done routinely may cause this craving for a smoke.

For people that have been smoking for a while already, they may not realize it but they form some emotional attachment to cigarettes. They find the cigarette relaxing and comforting during those stressful times. Smoking somehow becomes an extension of their social life, especially when they are emotionally at the highest or lowest.

There are many quitting systems that can help smokers to ultimately quit this deadly habit. Giving up smoking all starts with one’s plan to stop. Support groups may be useful, too. Smokers have to grasp that to quit smoking may take more than one attempt. They might also need to try several strategies before they can ultimately succeed.
Smoking is a nasty habit. Consider your body. You have to take care of it and keep it healthy. You have likely spent a lot on this poison. Forget your past failed attempts to quit smoking. Just remember that nicotine is your enemy and is destroying you slowly.

  1. what i am doing to quit smoking is to use some Habitrol nicotine patch. i still have some cravings to smoke cigarettes but i am working hard to stop smoking.
