With so many tips and hints on how to stop smoking it is very easy to understand why so many people really do not stop.  The huge majority of people are altogether baffled by the entire process!  What of the inconsistent messages passed around?  The fact is that with so much information passed around that is unclear to people it is often much easier to just continue smoking and hoping for a simple solution.  In Reality taking the necessary steps to actually quit smoking is not easy.  It means coming to terms with the fact that quitting smoking truly is best for you, as well as your health.

Tip #5  Set up a penalty for yourself.  For example, if you generally stop at Starbucks each day for a coffee you might consider skipping that on days when you have fallen short of your goals for smoking.  Whatever penalty you select, ensure it is something that you care about.

Tip #6  Look for help from your friends and family.  You require support as you are trying to quit, and this will assist you to ensure that you are not alone in the whole process.

Tip #10  Seek out ways to take your mind off cigarettes.  If you are always thinking about cigarettes, you may notice that you are lots more tempted to smoke.  Exercising, reading a book, surfing the internet, talking to someone on the phone and even fixing meals are all great ways to occupy your mind and prevent from thinking about when your last cigarette was.

  1. i am trying to Quit Smoking by having a very good discipline not take cigarettes anymore. I also use nicotine patches to curb my nicotine cravings from Cigarettes.

  2. i did have a hard time Quitting Smoking but several months of discipline and the use of nicotine patches helped me a lot to stop smoking.
